With the projected financial downturn and resulting cuts in the state budget, we are working hard to hear the concerns of people around the state, particularly in Northwest Arkansas, and are reaching out to our network to ensure that our voices will be heard when the 2009 State budget is set in Little Rock.
Essentially, the Arkansas Kids Count Coalition holds regular regional meetings that bring together KCC Steering Committee members, legislators, committed community and child activists, local elected officials, and citizens that have an interest in the issues of concern to the coalition.
The Arkansas Kids Count Coalition is a state-wide collaborative of organizations and individuals that works to inform the media, coalition members, legislators, and community leaders on the critical public policy issues facing Arkansas children and their families
